The owners of this basement wet bar wanted our work to fit into their theme of 'water, metal, fire and stone'. Otherwise known as 'Elemental'. Their basement contains a hot-tub with waterfall and a large swim-spa. Our design was comprised of a cone-shaped base and bar top in color-matched concrete all supported by 8 steel posts firmly anchored to the floor. The points of light coming through the wall are due to the copper tubes inserted into the curved face - just for that purpose. Shafts of light slicing through the base make the piece more airy, less dense. The puddling at the base was deliberate spill-down on the floor to evoke the colors of water one would see in the Caribbean. And fittingly, the blue concrete color is called 'Ocean'. All design, construction and engineering by Alternative Rocks of Colorado.
